A real haircut!

As promised, here’s a picture of my new hair … my first professional cut in more than a year!

My stylist says this is collarbone length. My hair is fine, so we always go blunt, but this time she added just a few long blunt layers for shape and movement.

Although this style is a good bit shorter than usual, it’s still quite versatile. I can wear it up, air dry or blow dry as the mood strikes me. It looks good under a hat. Everything can be tucked behind the ears if desired. And if the pandemic gets worse, and I can’t get to a salon, it’s easy to grow out.

Being shampooed was the most divine feeling ever. I should train Dale to do that.

Anyway, I like it a lot! Because it has been such a long terrible year, she missed out on a lot of business and yet responded enthusiastically to every crazy text I sent her with questions about my hair, I did not add the typical 20 percent gratuity.

Instead, I handed her a $100 bill. I thought she was going to cry. I did.

  1. Grey or gorgeous? GORGEOUS! I think a spa day compliments of Dale is a great idea.

  2. Your haircut looks great! I really like that length of hair and it looks good on you. I still need to schedule a haircut but I am waiting until I get my 2nd vaccine shot and the waiting period after I get the shot. That was so nice of you to give that generous tip:)

    1. Thanks! In that picture, my stylist used the curling iron, but I like it air dried with nothing on it! That’s my definition of good hair. I’ve experimented a bit and can add some flourish with the blower, curling iron and products, but that would be for special occasions. I hope you like yours as much as I like mine.

As for the tip, I just felt like it was the right thing to do.

  3. Love your haircut, you’re a good looking girl!
The silver colour is the main act. So, whatever cut you go for, it will work. I also liked the before look.

    1. Barbara — thanks so much for the lovely compliment! I like the haircut, and I do actually prefer the shorter length, but now that I’ve had some time to play around with it, I think I’ll grow out the layers. They’re cute but look best with more effort than I care to take.
